This Oriya sweet daali dal is made as prasad in Jagannath temple. This dal is made from chana dal and masoor dal. This dal, flavored with coconut and masala, is very tasty. You can serve it with sweet khichdi or any sweet rice dish.  Chana dal, masoor dal, salt, turmeric powder, sugar, coconut, cardamom, cinnamon, whole black pepper, clove, coriander seeds, cumin, fennel, fenugreek seeds, ghee, cumin, fennel.   1 cup chana dal 1/2 cup masoor dal Salt, to taste Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon sugar For paste 5 tablespoons coconut, grated 4 cardamoms 1 cinnamon stick 1/2 teaspoon whole black pepper 5 cloves 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds 1/2 tsp Cumin 1/2 tsp Fennel 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds For tadka 1 tsp Ghee 1/4 tsp Cumin 1/4 tsp Fennel     30   30     To make Oriya Meetha Dali, first wash both the pulses and soak them for half an hour. Soak all the ingredients for making paste for 15 minutes. Then put it in the mixer grinder and make a paste. Add 3 cups of water to both the dals and cook them in the cooker. After 2 whistles, add coconut paste, turmeric powder, sugar, salt and cook for 3 more minutes. Now add ghee in the tadka pan. Add cumin and fennel and let it cook for 15 seconds. Add this tempering to the dal and mix. Keep the dal neither too thick nor thin. When the dal is cooked as desired, turn off the gas. Serve Oriya Meetha Dal with rice. You can also serve this with any sweet pulao.
