Maharashtrian Masala Bhath Recipe – Maharashtrian Masala Bhath (Recipe In Hindi)

Maharashtrian Masala Bhaat is a recipe from Maharahatara in which rice is flavored with Goda Masala. You can add vegetables of your choice in it. It is spicy and sour in taste and is made in every house of Maharashtra.  Rice, Carrot, Green Beans, Cabbage, Capsicum (Green), Green Peas, Potato, Onion, Curd, Bay Leaf, Goda Masala, Mustard, Oil, Asafoetida, Salt, Coconut, Cashew, Ghee   1 cup rice 1 carrot, peeled and chopped 1/2 cup green beans, chopped 1/2 cup cabbage, chopped 1 capsicum (green), chopped 1/2 cup green peas 1 potato, peeled and chopped 1 Onion, cut thinly 2 tablespoons curd 1 bay leaf 3 teaspoons goda masala 1 teaspoon mustard oil, as required 1 asafoetida Salt, as per taste 1 tablespoon coconut, grated for garnish 10 cashew nuts 1 teaspoon ghee     35   30     To make Maharashtrian Masala Bhaat, first soak the rice in water for 30 minutes. Now heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and bay leaves in it. After 15 seconds add onions and cook until they become soft and brown. Now add all the vegetables in it and let it cook for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes add curd and mix. Let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Now heat 2-1/2 cups of water in a saucepan. After 2 minutes, add rice, red chilli powder, Goda masala, asafoetida and mix. Now add heated water to it and mix. Cook till the rice is cooked. Now heat ghee in a small pan. Add cashews to it and let it cook until it turns light brown. Switch off the gas and add it to the rice. Garnish with coconut and serve. Serve Maharashtrian Masala Bhaat with Tomato Saar and Boondi Raita for lunch.
