Lauki Chana Dal Recipe – Lauki Chana Dal (Recipe In Hindi)

Bottle gourd chana dal is a healthy recipe in which bottle gourd is cooked with lentils and spices. Bottle gourd is also called Dudhi which is used in daily food in every house. It is made differently in different states and the taste is also different.  Bottle gourd, gram dal, cumin, bay leaf, ginger, tomato, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, sugar, green coriander, oil, cumin, dry red chilli, salt   1 gourd, peeled and chopped 1 cup gram dal 1 tsp cumin 1 bay leaf 1 tsp ginger, grated 1 tomato, finely chopped 1 tsp coriander powder 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 1 teaspoon sugar, as per taste 1 green coriander, chopped a little For tempering, 1 teaspoon oil 1 teaspoon cumin 2 dried red chillies Salt, as per taste     20   40     To make Lauki Chana Dal, first soak the chana dal in 1-1/2 cups of water for 1 hour. Now add chopped bottle gourd, 1/4 cup water, salt and turmeric powder in the pressure cooker. Cook till 2 whistles. Let the pressure release and keep aside. Now add chana dal and remaining ingredients in the same pressure cooker and cook till 2 whistles. After 2 whistles, reduce the flame and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Let the pressure release and keep aside. Open the cooker and put bottle gourd in it. Now we will add seasoning to it. Heat oil in a small pan. Add cumin, red chilli powder and dried red chilli in it. After 15 seconds, turn off the gas and add the dal. Garnish with green coriander and serve. Serve Lauki Chana Dal with Bundi Raita and Phulka for lunch.
