Aloo Dum – Aloo Dum (Recipe In Hindi)

Aloo Dum also known as Dum Aloo is a spicy and sour recipe which you can make for your daily meal. Dum means cooking anything on low flame. You can also prepare this vegetable for your weekend morning breakfast.  Potato, turmeric powder, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, tomato, curd, garam masala powder, red chilli, coriander powder, sugar, salt, oil, coriander, onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli   10 potatoes 2 tsp turmeric powder 2 cardamoms 1 inch cinnamon 2 cloves 1 bay leaf 3 tomatoes, make puree 1/2 cup curd 1 tsp garam masala powder 1 tsp red chilli 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp sugar Salt Oil as per taste, Coriander as per use, finely chopped to make paste, 1 onion, chopped, 1 inch ginger, chopped, 3 cloves of garlic, 2 green chillies, chopped     20   40     To make Aloo Dum, first put onion, ginger, green chilli and garlic in a mixer grinder. Grind and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan. Add boiled potatoes, turmeric powder, salt and cook until the potatoes turn golden. Keep it separately. Put 2 tablespoons of oil in the same pan. Add onion, ginger and garlic paste in it. Let it cook for 4 to 5 minutes. After 5 minutes add cinnamon, cardamom, clove and bay leaf. Let it cook for 2 minutes. Now add 1 cup tomato puree, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder. Mix everything well. After this add curd to it, mix and mix well. After 1 minute add sugar, salt and potatoes. Cover the pan and cook for 3 minutes. After cooking, turn off the gas and garnish with green coriander. Serve Aloo Dum with Boondi Raita and Puri for breakfast.
