Chow Chow Poricha Kootu Recipe

Chow Chow Poricha Kootu is a simple South Indian dish that uses Chow Chow. To make this recipe, Chow Chow is cooked with moong dal, coconut, cumin, curd and curry leaves. This is a delicious recipe which you can serve with paratha, phulka or rice.  चाउ चाउ, पिली मूंग दाल, हल्दी पाउडर, नारियल, सुखी लाल मिर्च, जीरा, कढ़ी पत्ता, नमक, कढ़ी पत्ता, राइ, तेल, सफ़ेद उरद दाल, चना दाल   300 grams chow chow, chopped 1/2 cup yellow moong dal, cooked 1/4 tsp turmeric powder Ingredients for grinding 1/2 cup coconut 4 dried red chillies 1 tsp cumin seeds Curry leaves Salt as per taste Ingredients for seasoning 1 sprig curry leaves 1/4 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp oil 1 tsp white urad dal 1 tsp chana dal     15   30     To make Chow Chow Poricha Kootu Recipe, first cook the moong dal with 2 cups of water and 1/4 tsp turmeric powder in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles. Turn off the gas and let the pressure release on its own. After the pressure releases, turn the cooker on and stir the dal. Keep it separately. Now steam the Chow Chow until it becomes soft and keep it aside. Now add coconut, cumin, curry leaves, red chilli in a mixer grinder and make a paste. Add some hot water and grind again. Keep it aside. Now heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, chana dal, white urad dal and let it splutter. After the lentils are roasted well, add cooked lentils, chow chow, curry leaves, some water and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Serve.
