Aluchi Bhaji (Recipe In Hindi)

Aaluchi Bhaji is a Maharashtrian curry in which taro leaves are used. This is a simple vegetable in which onion and garlic are not used, hence you can make it for festival food also. You can also pack this vegetable in your lunch box.  Taro leaves, peanuts, gram dal, oil, cumin, mustard, asafoetida, dry coconut, dry mango powder, turmeric powder, jaggery, green chilli, salt   50 grams arbi leaves, wash and chop them 1/4 cup peanuts, soak in hot water for 30 minutes 2 tablespoons chana dal, soak in hot water for 30 minutes 1 teaspoon oil 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 1/2 tsp asafoetida 7 dry coconut, cut thinly 1 tsp dry mango powder 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 2 tsp jaggery, grind 2 green chillies, chopped Salt as per taste     10   20     To make Aluchi Bhaji, first prepare all the ingredients and keep them aside. Put chana dal, peanuts with 1/4 cup water and salt in a pressure cooker and cook for 3 to 4 whistles. Turn off the gas and let the pressure release. Now heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds to it. After 10 seconds, add asafoetida, turmeric powder, green chilli, taro leaves, dry mango powder, jaggery, salt, coconut and mix. Cook until the taro leaves become soft. After that add gram dal and peanuts and let it boil. After cooking, turn off the gas and serve hot. Serve Aaluchi Bhaji with Khandeshi Dal and Bhakri for lunch.
