Generally people do not like bottle gourd but this bottle gourd bharta is very tasty and a good way to use bottle gourd. Bottle gourd (Lauki) should be consumed regularly as it is a healthy vegetable. This Lauki Bharta is easy to prepare and takes very little time. Bottle gourd, onion, tomato, ginger garlic paste, cumin, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt, oil, sugar, coriander 1 gourd, grated 1 onion, large 2 tomatoes 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste 1 tablespoon cumin 1 tablespoon red chili powder 1/2 tablespoon turmeric powder 1 tablespoon garam masala powder salt, oil as per taste, sugar as per use Pinch of green coriander, for garnish 15 30 To make Lauki Bharta, first peel the bottle gourd and grate it. Keep it separately. Now heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds in it and let it cook for 15 seconds. Now add ginger garlic paste to it and let it cook for 1 minute. Add onion to it and cook till it becomes soft. After it becomes soft, add tomatoes and cook till it becomes soft. After the tomatoes become soft, add red chili powder, salt and cook for 30 seconds. Add grated bottle gourd to it and mix. Cover the pan and let the gourd cook on medium flame. Add salt to it and add some water. Let the gourd cook. Add garam masala in it and let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Check salt and cook. After cooking, turn off the gas and add green coriander and sugar. Mix and serve. Serve lauki bharta with garlic dal, spinach raita and phulka.
