Konkani Style Mooga Ghushi Recipe – Konkani Style Mooga Ghushi (Recipe In Hindi)

Muga Ghushi is a moong dal recipe in which moong dal is cooked in coconut gravy. Green moong is called Moogha in Konkani and coconut spice is called Ghushi. Tamarind and red chilli are also used in it which further enhances its taste.  Green moong dal, coconut, dry red chilli, tamarind paste, coconut oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, salt   1/2 cup green moong dal Coconut For masala 1/2 cup coconut, grated 2 dried red chillies, roasted 1/4 tsp tamarind paste 2 tsp coconut oil 1 tsp mustard 1 sprig curry leaves Salt, according to taste     10   20     To make Konkani style Muga Ghushi, first soak green moong in water overnight. Drain the water and cover with a wet cloth. Keep it in a warm place and you will see that they will start sprouting in a day. Soak it in water again and keep it aside for 2 hours. Drain the water and wash thoroughly. Keep aside. Take a pressure cooker, add sprouted moong, water as per requirement and cook till one whistle. Now add coconut, red chilli, tamarind, some water in a mixer grinder and make a paste. Add this coconut paste to moong, add salt and mix. Let it boil. Turn off the gas after 2 minutes. Now heat oil in a tadka pan for tadka. Add mustard seeds in it and let it cook for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds add curry leaves and put it in the gravy and mix. Serve Konkani Style Muga Ghushi with rice and Chow Chow Thoran for lunch.
