Karamani Sundal Recipe

Karamani Sundal Recipe is a healthy recipe made in South Indian households. In this, chawala/lobiya is boiled and mixed with coconut and tadka. It is also served as Prasad in many South Indian temples and is prepared during the festival of Navratri.  लोबिया, नारियल, जीरा पाउडर, हल्दी पाउडर, राइ, सफ़ेद उरद दाल, हींग, हरी मिर्च, सुखी लाल मिर्च, कढ़ी पत्ता, नमक, तेल   1 cup cowpea, cooked 1/2 cup coconut, grated 1 tbsp cumin powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder for tempering 1 tsp mustard 3/4 tsp white urad dal 1/2 tsp asafoetida 2 green chillies Finely chop 2 dry red chillies 4 or 5 curry leaves, break them Salt, oil as per taste     15   15     To make Karamani Sundal Recipe, firstly, we will put Lobia in a pan and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Now put it in water and soak it for 3 to 4 hours. Now take out the water from it and put the cowpea in the pressure cooker. Add water as per requirement and cook till 5 whistles. Let the pressure release on its own. After the pressure releases, open the cooker and take out the Lobia and keep it aside. Let it cool. Now heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, dry red chilli, asafoetida and cook till the dal turns light golden brown. Now add cowpea, turmeric powder and mix well. After 1 minute, add coconut, cumin powder, salt and cook for 1 minute. Switch off the gas and serve. Serve Karamani Sundal Recipe with Keerai Sambar, Beetroot Thoran, Rice and Papad for your daily lunch.
