Dal Palak Recipe – Dal Palak (Recipe In Hindi)

Dal Palak Recipe is a very tasty and nutritious dish. The amount of protein and minerals in Dal Palak is high because boiled spinach has been used in it. There is a tadka of ghee in this recipe which further enhances the taste of Dal Palak recipe.  Yellow Moong Dal, Masoor Dal, Spinach, Tomato, Ginger, Turmeric Powder, Cumin Powder, Garam Masala Powder, Salt, Ghee, Cumin, Dry Red Chilli   1/2 cup yellow moong dal 1/2 cup masoor dal 250 grams spinach, finely chopped and boiled 1 tomato, finely chopped 1 inch ginger, chopped 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder 1/2 1 tsp garam masala powder Salt to taste 1 tbsp ghee 1/2 tsp cumin 2 dried red chillies     10   40     To make Dal Palak recipe, first cook the dal in a pressure cooker with 3 cups of water. To know how to cook dal in pressure cooker, see here. Spinach can also be cooked in a pressure cooker or lightly fried in a pan in some oil. Now the method of cooking spinach in a pressure cooker has been given, but if you are cooking it in a pressure cooker then follow the same method and cook the spinach till it becomes soft. Now heat oil in pressure cooker. After 10 seconds, add ginger, green chilli, tomato, turmeric powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, salt and spinach and cook till one whistle. When the whistle comes, turn off the gas and keep the cooker under cold water. So that the pressure of the cooker gets released and the spinach does not get overcooked and remains green. Now when both dal and spinach are ready, mix the cooked dal with the cooked spinach and stir. Now let the dal and spinach boil. Now prepare the tempering, for tempering, heat a tablespoon of ghee in the pan, add cumin seeds and dry red chillies and fry well. Add this tempering to the dal-spinach, mix well and serve hot. You can also use lentils, moong, toor or chana dal to make dal palak. Serve Dal Palak with hot Tawa Paratha, Palak Raita and Kachumber Salad in winters.
