Bihari Style Baingan Ka Chokha (Recipe In Hindi)

Brinjal Chokha is a delicious recipe which is made in every house of Bihar. It is served with Litti which is made from flour and sattu flour.  Brinjal, tomato, green chilli, onion, ginger, asafoetida, mustard oil, salt   1 brinjal 1 tomato, finely chopped 1 green chilli, finely chopped 1 onion, finely chopped 1 inch ginger, grated 1/4 tsp asafoetida 2 tbsp mustard oil Salt as per taste     10   30     To make Bihari style brinjal chokha, prepare all the ingredients. Now take a brinjal and roast it on gas flame. You can also roast it in the oven. To roast it in the oven, first preheat it at 180 C. Now place the brinjal on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes or until the brinjal becomes soft. After roasting the brinjal, cool it. Remove the skin of the brinjal and separate it. Mash the brinjal with the help of a fork. Now heat mustard oil in a pan. Add asafoetida in it and let it cook for a few seconds. Now add onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies and let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Now add tomatoes to it and cook until tomatoes become soft. Now add brinjal paste, salt and let it cook for 4 to 5 minutes. After cooking, turn off the gas and serve. Serve brinjal chokha with litti or with garlic dal and phulka for lunch.
