Bhindi Masala Gravy Recipe

Bhindi Masala is a simple gravy recipe in which Bhindi or Okra is cooked in tomato and onion gravy. Rich in flavour, this vegetable is served with biryani. But you can also serve it with your paratha and phulka.  भिंडी, प्याज, अदरक, लहसुन, हरी मिर्च, लॉन्ग, इलाइची, दालचीनी, जावित्री, टमाटर, दही, कसूरी मेथी, तेज पत्ता, हल्दी पाउडर, लाल मिर्च पाउडर, धनिया पाउडर, तेल, नमक   250 grams Lady’s Finger, cut thinly and straight For Lady’s Masala Gravy 1 Onion, cut 1 inch Ginger 5 cloves Garlic 2 Green Chillies, cut 2 Long 1 Cardamom 1 inch Cinnamon 1 Mace Other Ingredients 3 Tomatoes, cut 2 tbsp Curd 1 tbsp Kasuri Methi 1 bay leaf 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp coriander powder Oil, as per use Salt, as per taste     20   30     To make Bhindi Masala recipe, first wash and clean the Bhindi thoroughly. After drying the ladyfinger, cut off the top part of the ladyfinger and make four incisions till the bottom. Be careful not to cut completely. Now heat oil in a pan. Add ladyfinger, salt and cook till ladyfinger is cooked. Cover the pan and cook until the ladyfinger becomes soft. Switch off the gas and keep aside. To make gravy, first put one tomato in a mixer grinder with some water and make a puree. Keep it separately. Now add garlic, onion, ginger, green chilli, clove, cardamom, cinnamon in the mixer grinder and make a paste. Keep it separately. Now heat oil in a pan. Add bay leaves and cook for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, add onion ginger paste and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. After 3 minutes add ladyfinger, increase the flame and cook for 1 more minute. Now add Kasuri Methi in it, mix and turn off the gas. Garnish with green coriander and serve. Serve Bhindi Masala Recipe with Dal Makhani, Boondi Raita and Phulka for lunch.
