Mullangi Thogayal Recipe

Radish is one of those vegetables which has high amount of fiber, hence it is also considered good for your health. So here we have made chutney from radish which is called Mulangi Thogayal in South India. It is a spicy chutney that is eaten with rice and ghee in South India.  मूली, काली उरद दाल (स्प्लिट), नारियल, इमली, हल्दी पाउडर, हींग, नमक, तिल का तेल, काली उरद दाल (स्प्लिट), राइ, कढ़ी पत्ता   1 cup radish, grated 2 tsp black urad dal (split) 1/4 cup coconut 20 grams tamarind, soaked in water 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 1/4 tsp asafoetida Salt, as per taste 2 tsp 1 tsp sesame oil 1 tsp black urad dal (split) 1 tsp mustard seeds 1/4 cup curry leaves     20   34     To make Mulangi Thogayal recipe, first heat a pan. Add urad dal, dried red chillies and cook till it turns light brown. After it turns brown, add grated radish, coconut, salt, turmeric powder and asafoetida. Cook until radish becomes soft. Turn off the gas and let it cool. After it cools down, put the radish mixture with tamarind in the mixer grinder and grind it. If necessary, you can add some water at the time of kneading. Take out in a bowl. Now heat oil in the tadka pan for tempering. Add mustard seeds, urad dal and cook till the dal turns golden brown. Add curry leaves and cook for 10 seconds. Add this tempering to the chutney and mix. Serve. Serve Mulangi Thogayal Recipe with Chow Chow Sambar, Rice and Papad for lunch.
